Doctors at Georgetown University Hospital in the United States recently tried a method to treat mushroom poisoning, using silymarin, a drug that has successfully cured all poisoned patients, according to the US Food Safety Website.
It is known that silymarin is extracted from the plant silymarin, which can prevent the toxin produced by poisonous mushrooms from reaching the liver and causing damage. Amanita toxin is produced by Amanita fungus, which is the culprit of 95% of mushroom poisoning in the United States. At present, the treatment of mushroom poisoning is not perfect, because there are fewer cases of poisoning in the United States, so doctors do not have much chance to find effective treatment of mushroom poisoning.
